Previous Post DANCE OF THE DISCONTENT II

A B O U T

working from self a developed symbolic language Jim Mooijekind deals with the things he finds hard to grasp.
The absurdities that can be found in the life of a millennial are what are being chewed, processed, and are presented to the viewer. In the act of “chewing and processing” his themes are being presented with a sometimes synical smirk, that is characteristic for Jim Mooijekind. this and the visual language of his work make up for a quite unique reality that is being channeled via different media. Paintings, masks, music, scarves, even sunglasses. by tacking this liberty in working freely he brings play and freedom back into an art world that, at times, takes itself  a little too seriously.
